Tree Preservation Orders (TPO’s) and Conservation Area

Many trees in the UK enjoy statutory protection either because they are subject to a TPO or because they are located within a Conservation Area, in some cases because of both; severe penalties can be incurred for unauthorised works.

Our consultants have many years experience in the administration of this often complex area of the law and are able to assist you in securing what you require or what your trees need.

We frequently represent the owners of protected trees and produce detailed tree work specifications which can be submitted as part of an application for consent to undertake tree works.

We frequently represent tree owners who have been affected by the serving of inappropriate TPO’s by making formal written representation and objections to the making of such Orders or supporting an appeal to the Secretary of State.
